Ingredients
- 2 (4-oz) logs of goat cheese
- 1 cup spaghetti sauce (marinara)
- Chopped fresh basil, for garnish
- Kosher salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare skillet: Preheat your oven to 375ºF (190ºC). Lightly spray a small cast iron skillet or oven-safe baking dish with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Shape the goat cheese: Flatten each 4-ounce goat cheese log into a circle and place it carefully in the center of the skillet.
- Add marinara sauce and season: Pour the marinara sauce around the edges of the goat cheese circle, leaving the center exposed. Sprinkle the top with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper according to your taste preferences.
- Bake the dip: Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the cheese is soft and heated through and the sauce is bubbly.
- Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven and sprinkle with freshly chopped basil. Serve warm as a dip with crusty bread, crackers, or vegetables.
Notes
- You can substitute fresh tomato sauce if you prefer a less processed marinara.
- Serve with toasted baguette slices or pita chips for the best dipping experience.
- For a spicy twist, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinara before baking.
- The dish is best served immediately while warm and creamy.
