Ingredients
Scale
Salad Base
- 3 ounces strawberry Jell-O mix (1 box)
- 1 cup hot water
- ½ cup cold water
- 3.4 ounces instant vanilla pudding mix (1 box)
- 8 ounces whipped topping (like Cool Whip) (1 tub)
Fruit and Add-ins
- 24 ounces fresh strawberries, hulled, halved, and sliced
- 20 ounces crushed pineapple, drained
- 10 ounces mini marshmallows (1 bag)
Instructions
- Dissolve the Jell-O: In a large bowl, dissolve the strawberry Jell-O mix in 1 cup of hot water, stirring continuously until the powder is completely dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
- Add Cold Water: Stir in ½ cup of cold water to the dissolved Jell-O mixture. Mix well, then refrigerate for 10-15 minutes until the mixture is slightly thickened but not fully set.
- Mix in Pudding: Whisk the instant vanilla pudding mix into the Jell-O mixture thoroughly until it becomes smooth and uniform. Return the bowl to the refrigerator and chill for an additional 10-15 minutes to allow the mixture to thicken further.
- Fold in Whipped Topping: Gently fold the whipped topping into the chilled Jell-O and pudding mixture until fully incorporated, being careful to maintain the fluffiness.
- Add Fruits and Marshmallows: Carefully stir in the sliced fresh strawberries, drained crushed pineapple, and mini marshmallows until evenly distributed throughout the salad.
- Refrigerate and Serve: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the salad for at least 1 hour to allow it to set properly. Serve chilled for the best texture and flavor.
Notes
- Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best flavor and texture in the salad.
- Ensure the crushed pineapple is well-drained to prevent the salad from becoming too watery.
- Be gentle when folding in the whipped topping to preserve the light and fluffy texture.
- This salad can be made a day ahead and stored covered in the refrigerator.
- For variation, you can substitute other berries or fruits, but keep the moisture content in mind.
